Health Hazards
The product is classified under the Classification, Packing and Labelling of Dangerous Substances Regulations 1984 as: Flammable

Occupational exposures limits (OEL) have been established by the Health & Safety Commission for certain ingredients and these should always be observed. Values given below are in ppm and are based on those in HSE Guidance Note EH40 (latest edition)

C is a Control Limit; R is a Recommended Limit; S indicates a risk of absorption through unbroken skin.
(Long term exposure limit is an 8 hour time weighted average)
(Short term exposure limit is a 10 minute time weighted average)

Further guidance on OEL's and the assessment of occupational exposure to harmful materials is given in HSE Guidance Note EH40.

(a) Over exposures are irritating to the eyes and respiratory system. Excessive concentrations may pr oduce effects on the central nervous system including drowsiness. In extreme cases losses of consciousness may occur.
(b) Long term exposure to vapour concentrations in excess of OEL's may result in adverse health effects.
(c) Splashes entering the eye will cause discomfort and possible damage.
(d) Prolonged contact with the skin may have a de-fatting effect which may lead to skin irritation and in some cases dermatitis.

Precautions in Handling and Use
Use only in well ventilated areas. Avoid the inhalation of vapours and spray mist by the provision of good natural ventilation sufficient to keep airborne concentrations below the OEL during the application and drying. Avoid contact with the skin and eyes. Wear appropriate protective clothing and eye protection to BS 2092. Keep containers closed except when in use.

First Aid Procedure

Inhalation:
Remove to fresh air, keep patient warm and at rest. If breathing is irregular or has stopped administer artificial respiration.

Skin Contact:
Remove contaminated clothing, wash skin thoroughly with soap and water, or use proprietary skin cleaner. Do not use solvents.

Eye Contact:
Irrigate immediately with plenty of clean, fresh water, holding eyelids apart.

Ingestion
There is no hazard by this route in normal industrial practice. If accidentally swallowed, DO NOT INDUCE VOMITING. Keep at rest and obtain medical attention.

In all cases of doubt, or where symptoms persist, seek medical attention.

Fire Fighting
Extinguish with dry agent, foam or CO2. Do not use water jets. Fire will produce dense, black harmful smoke. Cool containers exposed to fire with water spray.

Spillage
Remove sources of ignition. Ventilate area. Contain and collect spillage with non-combustible materials, e.g. sand or earth.

Disposal
Waste materials must be treated as a fire hazard and disposed of in accordance with the Control of Pollution Act 1974.
Do not allow to enter drains, water courses, water supplies, ponds, rivers, etc.
