Fungicidal Solution
Description:
Durabond Fungicidal Solution is a bleach type solution for the removal and prevention of unsightly green slime, algae, moss and lichens growing on roofs, walls, paths and monuments.
Before decorating surfaces which have been affected by mould growth, moss, lichens and fungus, it is necessary to remove these and completely kill their roots. If this is not done, growth may continue after decoration and will at least spoil the appearance of the work, and in some cases this subsequent growth may even force off the applied decorative film.
General:
Two applications of Fungicidal Solution are necessary where the plant growth is so thick that it prevents the solution reaching the underlying surface. After the first treatment the plant growth should be removed as soon as it is dead (usually 24 hours) by brushing or by weathering. this is then followed by a second application of Fungicidal Solution. Where surfaces are so dense that the correct fluid coverage cannot be achieved a third application may be necessary.
Durabond Fungicidal Solution should not be used immediately after rain, or if rain is imminent.
Re-treatment will be necessary every few years as growth becomes re-established, particularly on surfaces subject to excessive mechanical wear. Life of the treatment will be shorter where dirt is allowed to settle on the treated surface, thus isolating the treatment. Dry conditions will extend life.
Application:
The solution should be applied liberally by means of an ordinary paint brush, or a low pressure pneumatic sprayer (horticultural type), thoroughly working the material into the surface and particularly into any crack or crevice into which it may be difficult for the material to penetrate without the aid of the brush.
Leave for 24 hours and then wash off and allow to dry before decorating. Where the growth is severe, two separate applications of Durabond Fungicidal Solution may be necessary, leaving 24 hours between each application. A further 24 hours should elapse before washing off and allowing to dry.
Roofs:
Moss growths on roofs can be removed by saturating the growths with the solution at between 6-9m²/5 litres, depending on the denseness of growth. On asbestos-cement, slate and corrugated roofs the solution is particularly effective; it kills and loosens the growth, restoring slates to near their original brightness. Again leave for at least 24 hours before hosing off with water and allow to dry before decoration.
Walls:
A suitable technique is to commence spraying at the top of the area to be treated, moving the nozzle horizontally so that several inches of run-down occurs and so continue section by section until coverage at the rate of 9-10m²/5 litres is achieved.

Drying Time:
Allow 24-48 hours for reaction, hose off and allow the surface to become completely dry before redecoration.

Light green liquid.
Thinning/Cleaning:
DO NOT THIN. Brushes, spray equipment should be washed out in clear water after use.
Storage:
Store in a cool dry place, protect from frost.
Pack Sizes:
5 litres and 25 litres plastic containers.Shelf Life:
Indefinite in sealed containers.

Precautions:
- Wear suitable protective clothing namely synthetic rubber/PVC gloves when handling.
- Wash splashes from skin or eyes immediately.
- Avoid working in spray mist or wear suitable respiratory equipment and eye protection.
- Wash hands and exposed skin before meals and after work.
- Remove or cover all food stuffs before application.
- Do not apply to surfaces on which food is prepared.
- Children and pets should be kept away from treated areas until surfaces are dry.
- Harmful to fish. Do not contaminate ponds, waterways or ditches with chemical or used container.
- Avoid contact with leaves of growing plants.
- Keep in original container, in a safe place, out of reach of children.
- This material and its container must be disposed of in a safe way.
Durabond Fungicidal Solution is non flammable.
